About us
IMKONIYAT is a republican public association working toward an inclusive society free from stigma and discrimination, where every person can access treatment, care and opportunities for a dignified life.
History
The Republican Public Association IMKONIYAT received legal status on 30 September 1993. Throughout its history the organisation has carried out public education, produced brochures and books, provided medical and psychosocial services, developed palliative care and supported people living with HIV.
Multidisciplinary support
Since 2011, IMKONIYAT has taken part in introducing and developing multidisciplinary, palliative and medico-psychosocial support for people living with HIV in Uzbekistan.

Women’s direction
The women’s division, established in 2019, supports women and girls living with HIV who face stigma, discrimination, violence and social exclusion. The Tabassum project ran from April to September 2025.
Volunteering
A volunteer movement was established at IMKONIYAT in September 2023. The organisation also cooperates with the Oltin Qanot volunteer movement.
International cooperation
Organisations appearing in IMKONIYAT’s cooperation and project history include the Global Fund, UNAIDS, the World Health Organization, the International Organization for Migration and USAID.
